What one wears speaks a zillion words about them without having one to utter a word about themselves. Fashion is definitely a language, an expression of spirit. One’s style could be simple, basic yet crisp, while the other could have an experimental and edgy character to it. It could be inspired and influenced by cultures, economic scenario, media, humans or various other factors. Style becomes a blend of all these elements to form a unique personality and forms into a way of life.
Very first time on I Dress of the Applause I’ve someone sharing the space with me. There’s nothing more special than collaborating with best friends and I couldn’t be happier to bring this little project to life. Cameron and I had been exchanging ideas over the past two years of how we could coordinate our styling with each other for a project we were planning together once he flew down to India on his vacation. However, we wanted to have our individualistic styles intact. Clearly, our like-mindedness and unconventionality made it easy to compliment each other’s ideas quite effortlessly and bring out the best. While Cameron’s personal style draws inspiration from the iconic Michael Jackson, my personal style includes a lot of black, layering and statement jewelry in general. Exactly what we wanted to portray in this series of images.
The journey of creating is always so fascinating, leaving me with an urge to create more. Will be penning down a lot more ideas I have in mind in the days to come.
