FEATURING
Romwe Studded Denim Jacket
It’s interesting how certain things become characteristics of an era – be it fashion, art, music, movies. These reflect the thoughts, ideas and vision of the people who lived through those years and continue to offer incredible amount of inspiration to the current generation. I often wish if there was a way I could time travel into the past to physically experience and see how people lived, ate, dressed, and what offered them inspiration to come up with things so original. Though today’s age is far more knowledged, equipped and technically skilled, we always keep going back to the old, for the ethics, purity and love with which things were created. Nothing can beat that.
This post finally celebrates the return of black in my wardrobe shot against the vivid Pop-Art backdrop. It’s quite intriguing how the pop art culture started in the 50’s was popularized by artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, breaking the notion of creating just traditional art, history inspired work and celebrating popular culture, people and elements of everyday life.
Coming to the look, this jacket has been sitting in my wardrobe for the longest time ever and only the sultry weather could be blamed for the delay of this shoot. However, I’m glad to be able to put this look together at the right time.
A celebration of colors, art and a lot of black, this post is an ode to the 50’s pop-culture, only courtesy of St+art India. Kudos!
