Welcoming the season with dark hues and layering, the post marks the beginning of winter stories for the year. The nights are getting cooler while the days are still bright and sunny. And in the midst of a little chaos going on at the moment, I could luckily take time out to publish this story. After rewriting this post several times and contemplating if I should draft nothing at all and let the pictures do the talking, I was finally able to ramble my thoughts.
When I look at the history of fashion and how it has evolved over the years, I feel a fusion of styles of different eras has been leading to innumerable individualistic styles that make every person look different from the others. They say don’t go by appearances, however, how one dresses up tells a story about the person and reflects their thoughts.
I wanted to create this look for quite some time and no other time could have been better than at the onset of winter. The idea was to create a fusion look for the season with a sari layered with a black blazer and paired with high heeled booties. Keeping the season in mind, I took the liberty of choosing a dark color palette with a hint of metallic tones.
Every experience is one of a kind and this one was even more interesting, working with Kaleem, who is a supremely talented photographer with an anomalous creative eye. Having gone through his Instagram feed, it wasn’t surprising to know his work has was featured in Vogue Italia. A meeting over a cup of coffee on a rainy day and an exchange of ideas and conversations brought about this post. Thank you for working with me on this project Kaleem.
Winter has already come. And with only two more months left for the year to end, I can only think of checking off some major goals I had planned for this year. A moment of calm before I prepare to get a lot done. Signing off for now.
