“Beauty has no recipe.”
I cannot agree more with what Terry Barber, the Director of Artistry at M.A.C quoted about the makeup trend earlier this year- “It’s about rejecting the idea that beauty can be a ‘recipe’.” I have always believed that the whole real idea of wearing makeup is to bring out the best in you. One could wear a wine lip with winged eyes or one lipstick over the other to achieve the desired shade. To mix, match or mismatch is totally upto you for there are no rules. It’s about how beautiful and confident you feel from the inside wearing what you love to, without making an effort to look like a perfect clone. Resonates with what the creative genius Sonic Sarwate had to say when I asked him at the SS- 16 collection launch at M.A.C about how he perceives makeup as – “Makeup is not about transformation, but all about making you look better, adding your own version and not looking like somebody else.”
It would be hard to deny that M.A.C today has become synonymous with makeup. Something most of us completely rely on in today’s time for it’s widest range of shades and supreme quality. Looking back at the time when M.A.C was only used by makeup artists and celebs, it’s so good to see the brand has now become accessible to everyone. I feel the professional and reliable help made available at their stores sets it apart from the rest and makes it easier to pick the right products based on one’s needs.
It makes me a bit nostalgic to feature the brand that has been my companion right from the time I Dress for the Applause started and helped me to a great extent in creating what I have so far. Though nowhere close to being called an expert in this genre, I’ve learnt to switch between the roles of a Make up artist, Stylist and Model apart from handling other creative aspects of my shoots. This gets overwhelming quite often, however, a brand like MAC only makes my job easier for I know what I need to achieve a particular look.
Presenting bright shades of yellow and blue from the Spring – Summer 16 collection and the recently launched Modern Twist Kajal Liner which has become my most favorite beauty essential this season.
Miles to go and a lot to be achieved. Hope you’ll tag along M.A.C.! Will you?
