How difficult or easy is it to be happy and content in this age and time where a lot of us are constantly trying to chase something. Always looking for something else, someone else, always wanting to do a lot of things. While being ambitious and achieving goals is important, we have become robotic and way too practical in our thoughts. So much that we seem to be losing the essence of life, often leading to burnout and mental health issues like anxiety and depression.
While dealing with such issues requires seeking professional help, few simple things can make one’s day-to- day life easier . Say – watching a flock of birds in the sky, the moving clouds, instead of being on social media while in the cab, observing random people on the roads doing their thing, listening to music that makes you happy, watching the car lights on a late night. Just watch. No talks, no hurry to reach a destination. For me, usually the journey back is more blissful and comforting than traveling to the destination for work or even a fun night.
Also, appreciating little things, cleaning up my living space, getting rid of the clutter, ironing clothes, doing laundry, watching animal rescue videos on YouTube, or just talking to loved ones you haven’t spoken to in days. For me, these things are quite comforting. Only then is when I come back to this space with a fresh state of mind and revived spirit to pen down my thoughts and vision, like I am right now.
